Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided to increase the monthly salary of matrons working in the girls’ hostels run by the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Caste Development Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department from Rs.10,000 to Rs.15,000.
Apart from this, if any working matron dies while on duty, her next of kin will receive an exgratia of Rs.2 lakhs.
Similarly, the Chief Minister announced that the woman matrons will be given a lump sum of Rs one lakh when they retire at the age of 60.
For this, the state government will spend more than Rs 15 crores annually.
