Subarnapur: Odisha vigilance sleuths arrested a revenue inspector and an assistant revenue inspector in Subarnapur district for taking a bribe of Rs 5,000.
The accused persons have been identified as Rajendra Kumar Mishra, Revenue Inspector (RI) and Panchanan Dang, Assistant Revenue Inspector(ARI), both of Khandahata RI Circle under Biramaharajpur Tahasil in Subarnapur district.
Mishra and Dang have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demand and acceptance of a bribe of Rs.5,000 from a complainant to forward the enquiry report in the Revision Petition Case filed by the complaint for issuance of ROR.
Dang, while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant, as per the direction of Mishra, RI in the latter’s presence inside the RI office was nabbed by the team of Odisha Vigilance. The entire bribe money has been recovered from Dang, ARI and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of both the accused persons Dang and Mishra from the DA angle.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 12 dt.20.06.2024 U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. The investigation is in progress against the accused persons. Further reports are awaited.
