Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 11 cases of Black fungus or mucormycosis so far amid the devastating second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
As per the Health Department sources, 11 cases of black fungus have been detected in the state till date. Of the 11 patients, 10 are undergoing treatment in critical condition. However, one patient has succumbed to the disease.
Although the cases have been reported from different parts of the state, all are being treated in Bhubaneswar.
Earlier yesterday, Odisha Government declared black fungus as a notifiable disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act.
