Chennai: Famous Kollywood filmmaker Thamira passed away on April 27 in Chennai. He died due to COVID-19 Complications. He was admitted to Chennai hospital after getting diagnosed with COVID-19.
Filmmaker Shankar paid tribute to the late director tweeted “I am deeply saddened to know about Director Thamira’s sudden demise. I convey my deepest condolences to his family and friends. May his soul Rest in Peace.”

On the work front, he was working on a script when he was diagnosed with COVID-19. He had earlier worked as an assistant to veteran directors K Balachander and Bharathiraja. He is survived by his wife, three sons, and daughter.
After Kayal actor Florent C Pereria, Thamira has become the second star from Kollywood who passed away due to COVID.
