New Delhi: Rajya Sabha proceedings was on Monday adjourned till 2 PM following an uproar by the Opposition members of the House over the suspension of 12 MPs.
Deputy Leader Anand Sharma and Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge and DMK leader Tiruchi Siva raised the issue and requested to revoke the suspension of the 12 MPs.
The ruckus started after the Chairman rejected their plea.
Since the commencement of the session, a number of issues have been discussed, including the firing in Nagaland, amid opposition protests.
Even though the Rajya Sabha was repeatedly adjourned in the first week of the proceedings owing to the opposition’s protest, it has recorded a productivity of 52.50 per cent so far, an improvement of 5.6 per cent over that of the first week, according to reports.
The Winter Session began on November 29 and will end on December 23.
