In a staggering four-over spell, New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson achieved a remarkable feat by taking 3 wickets without conceding a single run, thus setting a new world record in the T20 format.
Ferguson scripted history by becoming the first bowler in Men’s T20 World Cup history to bowl four maidens in a match.
Previously, only one men’s bowler, Canada’s Saad Bin Zafar, had bowled a full set of four overs without conceding a run, which was against Panama in an international match in 2021.
Lockie Ferguson’s exceptional performance has secured his place as the second player in history to achieve this feat and the first ever to do so at a T20 World Cup during Monday’s match against Papua New Guinea.
