Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bhubaneswar to attend the oath-taking ceremony of new Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
After reaching the airport, Modi proceeded towards the Raj Bhavan. The PM is scheduled to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Sri Majhi today at 5:00 PM at Janata Maidan.
Earlier, Chief Ministers of several states and other cabinet ministers arrived in Bhubaneswar today for this grand event. This morning Sri Majhi visited BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik and invited him to the event.
Union ministers and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states will attend Majhi’s oath-taking ceremony. Besides VVIPs, around 30,000 people are expected to attend the oath-taking ceremony.
Security has been tightened for this mega event. A total of 67 platoons of police force have been deployed. Three anti-terrorism squads, one Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) unit, a dog squad, and anti-sabotage teams have been engaged to ensure proper security at the venue.
