Andhra Pradesh: At least six people were burned alive and 32 others sustained injuries after a bus collided with a truck on the Hyderabad Vijayawada highway in Andhra Pradesh.
The deceased were identified as Anji (35), Uppgundur Kashi (65), Uppugundur Lakshmi (55), and Mupparaju Khyati Saishri (8). The information on two others who died in the accident is yet to be known.
The accident took place on the intervening nights of Tuesday and Wednesday. According to sources, a private travel bus on the way to Hyderabad from Chinnaganjam in Bapatla district collided with a truck near Chilakaluripet mandal. Following the accident, both vehicles caught fire.
There were 42 people on the bus at the time of the accident. All of the victims are said to be residents of Nilaipalem, Chinganjam Mandal, Bapatla District.
The injured were given first aid at the government hospital in Chilakaluripet town and shifted to Guntur for better treatment, the sources said.
