Bhubaneswar: The Government of India is working on mission-mode to evacuate stranded Indian citizens including Odias from strife-torn Sudan through Operation Kaveri, tweeted Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, the Union Minister said, “The safety and well-being of the Indian community abroad is a priority for PM Narendra Modi’s government. Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai! ”
Pradhan thanked Prime Minster Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar as the Government of India successfully evacuated Indian Citizens including Odia stranded in Sudan through Operation Kaveri.
It is pertinent to mention here that a native of Odisha, who arrived in Mumbai narrated his ordeal in Sudan. he said, “India has a very good and powerful reputation there (Sudan). A country like America is not able to evacuate its people. But the Indian govt evacuated their people safely and I thank the govt and all management for their move.”
