New Delhi: Sadhguru and Baba Ramdev have urged the Central Government to safeguard Hindus in Bangladesh amidst the ongoing violence.
Sadhguru, the spiritual leader and founder of the Isha Foundation, stated on Wednesday that the atrocities against Hindus are not merely an internal issue of Bangladesh.
He emphasized that India, or Bharat, cannot be considered a strong nation if it does not stand up to protect the minorities residing in Bangladesh.
Hindus in Bangladesh have been victims of violence due to student protests that led to the resignation of Sheikh Hasina. Hindu residences and businesses across 27 districts of Bangladesh have faced attacks.
The spiritual leader further mentioned that India must safeguard those who are part of the Indian civilization from these severe atrocities.
“The ongoing violence against Hindus is not solely Bangladesh’s internal affair. Bharat cannot ascend to the stature of Maha-Bharat if we fail to take immediate action to ensure the safety of minorities in our vicinity,” he expressed in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
He continued, “What was once part of our nation, unfortunately, is now our neighbourhood, but it remains our responsibility to protect these people—who are integral to our civilization—from such appalling acts of violence,” he added. Earlier, yoga guru and founder of Patanjali, Baba Ramdev, called on the Modi government to decisively protect Hindus in the neighbouring country.
“No Hindu in Bangladesh should face cruelty or violence, whether they are traders, temple-goers, or Indian residents. To achieve this, the entire nation must stand united,” Ramdev stated in a video on social media.
He also expressed satisfaction at seeing the Opposition and the Government come together for the first time. “If we do not address the spread of Islamic radicalism around the world and its encroachment on India’s doorstep, it could pose a threat to our country,” the yoga guru remarked.
Highlighting the peril to Hindus in the neighbouring nation, he stressed that India must remain vigilant to ensure their protection.
