Australia: KL Rahul scored a brilliant 74 but India went down fighting against Western Australia in the second practice match at the WACA Ground in Perth.
Chasing a target of 169, India kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually managed 132/8 in 20 overs. Earlier, Nick Hobson and D’Arcy Short hit fifties as Western Australia managed to post a total of 168/8 in 20 overs.
Hobson (64) and Short (52) stitched 110 runs for the second wicket before Indian bowlers made a strong comeback to restrict Western Australia under 170. Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets while Harshal Patel also bagged two wickets. Earlier, India were asked to bowl first in their second practice match at the Western Australia Cricket Association Ground in Perth.
The visitors won the first match by 13 runs as Suryakumar Yadav starred with a brilliant knock of 52 off 35 balls. Virat Kohli and Rahul were rested for the match, while the likes of Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant failed to get amongst the runs. They will hope for a better performance this time around.
