Bhubaneswar: Former Rajya Sabha MP and 5-time MLA from Kesinga and Narla assembly constituencies, Dhaneswar Majhi today left Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Senior BJP leader Sameer Mohanty, former minister Surma Padhi, state vice-president Birachi Narayan Tripathi, state secretary Saroj Kar, state media coordinator Sujit Kumar Das, Azad Hind Pangirahi welcomed the Majhi at ‘Mishrana Parba’ held at the party state office today.
After joining the saffron party today, Majhi said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is determined for the overall development of Odisha. The faith and trust of the people of the country and the people of the state are increasing towards the leadership of Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Spitting venom against the BJD, Majhi said, “The trust of the people of Odisha is increasing in the Modi government and the Modi guarantee. And, BJD has become a huge obstacle in the development of the state.”
