Ganjam: As many as 20 labourers were injured and seven among them sustained critical injuries after an SUV they were travelling in overturned near Talapada Thakurani temple under Patrapur block of Ganjam district on Wednesday.
According to reports, the mishap took place when 20 construction labours were returning from Nuapentha village. As the tyre of the vehicle flattened, the vehicle overturned, injuring all of the labourers.
Immediately with the help of locals, injured persons were rescued and rushed to Patrapur Community Health Centre (CHC) and seven of them were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur as their conditions deteriorated, reports said.
On being informed, Jarada police personnel, Patrapur BDO and tehsildar reached the spot and reviewed the rescue operation.
