Mayurbhanj: The body of a woman was recovered from a forest in Thakurmunda locality of Mayurbhanj district today. The identity of the deceased is not known immediately.
According to reports, the matter came to the fore after some locals spotted the body lying in the forest near Sarubali Sahi of Khandabandha panchayat under Thakurmunda police limits and informed police about the same.
On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem.
Though the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that someone might have murdered the woman and later dumped her body in the forest.
Further investigation is underway in this regard, police said.
