Vigilance nabs Police Inspector in Koraput, seizes ill gotten cash from him

Koraput: Vigilance officials nabbed the Inspector In Charge of Boipariguda police station in Koraput district with lakhs of alleged bribe money.

The accused has been identified as Sushanta Satpathy, who hails from Cuttack and works as an IIC at the Boipariguda Police Station in Koraput.

Based on a reliable source, the movement of the accused was intercepted by a team of Odisha vigilance in a bus near Jeypore along with the cash. Approximately Rs 2,70,000 cash was recovered from him. Further, Rs 1,80,000 was seized from his office chamber at Boipariguda police station.

A total of Rs 7.5 lakh was seized from his possession yesterday. Continuing the search operation, the vigilance officials today raided his Quarter at Buxi bazaar in Cuttack and recovered about Rs 25 lakh. It is worth mentioning that the search is still underway and detailed reports are awaited regarding this matter.
