Kalahandi: Vigilance on Wednesday apprehended the Marketing Inspector(MI) of Kalahandi’s Rampur Block, Sumanta Mallik, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.14,000/ for ration card inclusion.
As per the complainant, Mallik demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 14,000 to process applications to include ration cards under the ‘Antyodaya Scheme.’
The entire bribe money was recovered from the accused. Following this, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Mallik from the DA angle.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No. 32 Dt. 03.10.2023 U/s 7 P.C Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered.
An investigation against him is in progress.
