Security Forces Bust Maoist Camp In Kandhamal After Exchange Of Fire

Phulbani: The security forces busted a Maoist camp in the forest area of Kandhamal district after a gun battle with them on Sunday.

Based on intelligence, the SOG jawans conducted combing operation at Bhaluguda area near Durgapanga under Belghar and Kotagarh police station limits in Kandhamal district.

During the operation, the jawans came face to face with the Maoists inside the forest areas and an exchange of fire took place between them for a long period.

However, the Maoists took advantage of the dense forest and fled from the spot.
The security forces destroyed the Mao camps and seized a lot of materials, including seven hand grenades, three guillotine sticks, wire, blasting machine, solar panels, blankets, umbrellas, medicine, food items, etc.,  said the Kandhamal SP Subhendu Kumar Patra.

Due to the determined efforts, sincerity, work efficiency, innovative skills of Kandhamal SP Shubhendu Kumar Patra, the suppression of Maoism in Kandhamal district has become possible.

SP Patra’s effort to declare Mao free district is commendable. Patra wants the upcoming general elections to be free, fair and impartial with peace and order. He has given strict instructions to the security personnel to intensify the combing operation following the SOP rules.
