Koraput: Odisha Vigilance has arrested Drona Kumar Tandi, Head Master of Trishakti High School at Makaraguda in Kalahandi district on Thursday.
According to the vigilance, construction work was going on for the new building of the High School. After completion of the work, the headmaster demanded a Rs 40,000 bribe from the contractor to clear his running bill.
The Headmaster had asked him to deposit the bribe amount in his bank account. After depositing the amount, the contractor handed over the counter foil of deposit slip to Head Master Tandi.
Based on a complaint filed by the contractor, Vigilance reached on the spot. Seeing the Vigilance team, Tandi swallowed the deposit slip. But a received text message, regarding a cash deposition of Rs. 40,000/-, was found in his mobile phone.
More investigation is in progress against the accused Head Master, said the Vigilance.
