Over 33 Tons Of Hard Coke Seized In Ganjam, 7 Held

Ganjam: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch has arrested seven persons with the seizure of over 33 tons of Hard Coke during raids at Sanaghati under Khalikote Police Station in Ganjam district on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

The arrestees have been identified as Balia Nayak alias Sridhar and Uttam Behera of Ganjam district, and Saroj Sahoo of Cuttack while two other accused persons Hari Singh and Shivam Sharma are natives of Madhya Pradesh. The remaining two Israil Wasir Mohammed Ullah and Rama Lohar are from Maharashtra.

Acting on a tip-off, the officials conducted raids with the help of Ganjam Police and seized more than 33 tons of Hard Coke, two trucks, one JCB, and other incriminating materials. The cops have also arrested seven persons in this connection.

Following this, a case has been registered at Khalikote Police Station and further investigation is underway in this regard.
