Hot & Humid Weather Conditions To Prevail In Odisha From 2 To 6 April: IMD

Bhubaneswar: Due to the anticipated rise in maximum temperature and the presence of high humidity in the atmosphere, hot & humid weather conditions are very likely to prevail across Odisha from 2 to 6 April, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday in its evening weather forecast today.

The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre said that the north-south trough from east Bihar to north Bay of Bengal across Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal at 0.9 km above mean sea level persists, the IMD added.

The weather agency has advised people to take precautionary measures for hot & humid weather conditions while going outside during peak hours of the day i.e., between 11 am and 3 pm.

The maximum day temperature is very likely to fall by 3-4 °C during the next 24 hours and rise by 4-5 °C at many places in the subsequent two days and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha. Also, there will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next 2 days and will gradually rise by 2-3 °C at many places in the subsequent 3 days over the districts of Odisha, the IMD regional centre here said.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha till April 6:-

  • Day 1 (Valid up to 8.30 am of 1st April):

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Nawarangpur & dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha, the IMD added.

  • Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 am of 1st April to 8.30 am of 2nd April): Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha
  • Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 am of 2nd April to 8.30 am of 3rd April): YELLOW WARNING

Warm night conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Bolangir, Boudh, Sonepur, and Malkangiri.

  • Day 4 (Valid from 8.30 am of 3rd April to 8.30 am of 4th April): YELLOW WARNING

Warm night conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Nayagarh, and Malkangiri.

  • Day 5 (Valid from 8.30 am of 4th April to 8.30 am of 5th April): YELLOW WARNING

Warm night conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur

  • Day 6 (Valid from 8.30 am of 5th April to 8.30 am of 6th April):

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

  • Day 7 (Valid from 8.30 am of 6th April to 8.30 am of 7th April):

Light rain/thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore & dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
