Deer Meat Seized In Kendrapara, 3 Poachers Arrested

Rajnagar: The forest department on Sunday arrested three poachers and seized 6 kgs of deer meet near Bhitarkanika National Park at Rajnagar in Odisha’s Kendrapara district.

After hunting a deer from the reserve forest, the poachers were taking the meat for feasting, when the forest team conducted a raid.

This evening, Tiku Bhuiyan of Bhekta village in Rangani Panchayat was carrying 6 kg of deer meat in a bag to feast. On getting information, foresters Naveen Mallik, Prashant Kumar Singh, forest staff Yashwant Behera, and Bibhuti Tarai, on the instructions of ACF Manas Kumar Das, apprehended the accused and 6 kg of deer meat was seized from him.

After eliciting information from Tiku during questioning, the forest department team then Jitendra Barik of Bhekta village and Moti Mandal of Talachua village who were involved in deer hunting.
