Boudh: As many as 12 persons including women and children sustained grievous injuries as a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in which they were travelling had a head-on collision with a truck early today morning near Bahira Chhak under Baunsuni police limits in Boudh district.
According to a police source, the truck was on its way to Sonepur when it met with an accident. The SUV coming from the front collided with it leading to the injuries.
Baunsuni police and a team of local fire services personnel reached the accident site. They, with the help of some residents, rescued the injured persons and sent them to a nearby hospital in Baunsuni for treatment in critical condition.
Police have seized the two vehicles and launched a probe into the road mishap.
