Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Odisha Unit on Friday released a list of 40-member star campaigners and sent it to the Election Commission of India for upcoming Dhamnagar by-election.
The list includes BJP state president Samir Mohanty, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Biseswar Tudu, Aswini Vaishnaw, National vice-president Baijayant Panda, MP Aparajita Sarangi, former Minister Pratap Sarangi, national spokesperson Sambit Patra and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Jaynarayan Mishra.
Similarly, BJP in-charge D Purandeswari, field in-charge Sunil Bansal, Vijaypal Singh Tomar among others are the star campaigners.
BJP was the first party to announce its candidate for the bypoll. The party choose Bishnu Sethi’s son Suraj Suryabansi as the candidate. The saffron party has already hit the campaign trail with door-to-door campaigning.
By-election to Dhamnagar assembly constituency was necessitated following the death of Bishnu Sethi.
