Koraput: A man has been awarded 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) for abducting and raping a minor girl. This verdict was given by the Fast-Track Special Court Jeypore on Thursday.
Adhoc Additional Sessions Judge Jeypore Pradip Kumar Sasmal sentenced one Satyanaryan Majhi of Kenduguda under Kotpad police limits to 20 years RI for abducting and raping a minor girl.
The judge sentenced Santosh on two counts-17 years RI under section 6 of the POCSO Act and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 and 3 yrs RI under section 366 IPC and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000.
On failure to pay the fine amount imposed by the court, the convict has to undergo nine months RI.
