Malkangiri: A woman Maoist cadre, Nachhi Kharar of Mukutipali, surrendered before Malkangiri SP here on Sunday. The cadre was CPI(Maoist) area committee member of Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee.
She was involved in Maoist activities in the region for the last two years. She would be rehabilitated under the Maoist Surrender and Rehabilitation policy of state government.
According to available reports, it is being suspected that Kharar got disappointed with the behaviour and felt that she was disillusioned with the Maoist ideology after being witness to physical and mental harassment of women cadres in the outfit and decided to quit.
