Cuttack: At least two persons were killed while three others sustained injuries after they were hit by a pick-up van at Duhuria on Cuttack-Chandbali road last night.
The deceased were identified as Dibyajyoti Das and Somanath Sahoo.
According to reports, the victims were returning from Balia ‘melana’ when the speeding pick-up van the Dola Biman they were carrying in the wee hours of Sunday.
It is suspected that the mishap occurred due to fog.
Soon after the incident, all the injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital. However, Dibyajyoti and Somanath succumbed to their injuries.
