Baramulla: An overnight encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district resulted in the death of three terrorists on Saturday morning.
Officials reported that a cordon-and-search operation commenced late Friday night in Chak Tapper Kreeri, located in the Pattan area of north Kashmir.
The operation escalated into an encounter when terrorists opened fire on the forces’ search party, which led to retaliation from the forces, a police official stated.
The cordon remained in place overnight, and by morning, three terrorists were killed during the firefight, according to the official.
He further mentioned that the identities and affiliations of the deceased terrorists are currently being determined, and the operation is ongoing.
