Bhubaneswar: At least three persons were arrested for allegedly thrashing a woman cop under Lingaraj police station in Bhubaneswar.
The arrestees have been identified as Anita Mohapatra, Aadyasha Nandini, and Amit Swarop of Kunjapatna Sahi.
According to available information, Amit had tied a nuptial knot with one Sushree Subhankar Senapati in March. Later, his family mentally tortured Sushree even after completing their demands.
Following this, Sushree lodged a complaint at the police station regarding mental torture.
Acting on the complaint, sub-inspector Jyostnamayi registered a case and called Sushree’s husband and his family members for questioning.
Meanwhile, Amits’s mother and sister reached the police station and created a ruckus. Upon resisting the act, the enraged family members thrashed the woman cop.
Following this, a case was registered and the three accused were forwarded to court.
