Kandhamal: The Special Task Force, Bhubaneswar seized about 303 kg of ganja in Kandhamal district and arrested the drug peddler.
The smuggler has been identified as Kishore Chandra Mallik (58) of Sirkakuti under Tikabali police station, Kandhamal.
Based on intelligence input, a raid was conducted by a team of STF, BBSR with the help of Kandhamal Police on 4th February early morning on S.H-1 near village Gadiapada, under Khajuripada police station, in Kandhamal district against illegal trade of Narcotic Drugs and apprehended the accused.
During the search, Ganja weighing more than 303 Kg and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from his possession. The accused person could not produce any valid authority in support of the possession of such contraband materials, for which the accused person has been arrested.
The drug peddler has been forwarded to the court of Dist and Sessions Judge cum Spl. Judge,
Kandhamal. In this connection, STF PS Case No.04 dated 04.02.2024 U/s 20 (b)(ii)(C) of NDPS Act 1985 has been registered. Further Investigation is underway.
