Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Vice-President and former MP, Prasanna Acharya sustained injuries in a car accident in Sambalpur district late on Thursday night.
Reportedly, his vehicle collided with a truck on National Highway 55 late last night. While Acharya was admitted to a hospital in Sambalpur, his Personal Security Officer also suffered fractures, while the driver escaped with minor injuries.
On Friday, Acharya was airlifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for further treatment. The Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, expressed his wishes for Acharya’s speedy recovery.
