Jharsuguda: A person was killed while his wife sustained critical injuries after a speeding truck hit the motorcycle they were riding on NH 49, near Singharpur village under Lakhanpur police station in Jharsuguda district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Nohar Sae Waren (29) of Reda village, Sakti district, Chhattisgarh. And the injured person is Neela Waren, wife of the deceased.
As per reports, Nohar was going to his village from Jharsuguda with his wife Neela and their 3-year-old daughter on the bike. Near Singharpur, a truck hit their bike which was coming from Panchagaon. As a result, Nohar dies on the spot and Neela was seriously injured. However, their daughter escaped narrowly.
Neela was admitted to Lakhanpur Community Health Center for treatment and the dead body of Nohar has been sent for post-mortem.
The driver of the truck fled from the spot after the incident. On intimation, the Lakhanpur police reached the scene and seized the truck.
