Keonjhar: The body of a panchayat ward member was found under mysterious circumstances in Bansapal Tehsil in Keonjhar district. The deceased was identified as Bhagban Dehury, ward member of Tala Jagar village.
According to reports, Dehury had gone to attend a sabha meeting in Kumundi panchayat on Sunday evening. However, he did not return home following this family members launched a frantic search.
Later, Dehury’s body was found floating in a canal nearby.
While the exact reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained, family members suspect it as a case of murder.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case and initiated a probe into the incident, said sources.
