Bhubaneswar: Amid heavy rainfall under the impact of low pressure area over coastal Odisha and neighbourhood, IMD Bhubaneswar in the latest forecast warned of landslides on account of heavy rainfall in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal districts.
The IMD Bhubaneswar in its special bulletin predicted that vulnerable hilly areas may witness landslides/mudslides where heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday informed that a cyclonic circulation lies over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal Odisha.
A low pressure area is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal under its influence during the next 48 hours.
