Nayagarh: A 17 year girl’s dead body unearthed in Phiringia jungle of Kandhamal district, 147 km away from her home Nayagarh.
The deceased girl, identified as Tulasi Nayak was a resident of Sorosa village under Nuagaon police limits in Nayagarh district. The minor’s body was exhumed by Nayagarh police and sent for post-mortem on Saturday.
It is suspected that the father of the victim Biprabar Nayak killed her over a love affair with a married person of the same village. The police believe that the body was buried in an attempt to destroy evidence.
According to sources, the family members of the girl had locked up their house and were absconding since Friday afternoon. Under the supervision of Nayagarh police, a team comprising officials of Daspalla and Nuagaon police station reached Phiringia and launched an investigation.
