Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have exchanged vows in a private ceremony at their home in Cascais, Portugal, with their children and a handful of close friends and family members in attendance.
Cristiano Ronaldo and longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez have officially married in an intimate ceremony held at their home in Cascais, Portugal.
The couple reportedly exchanged vows on August 11, marking a major milestone in their decade-long relationship. Unlike the lavish celebrity weddings often associated with high-profile couples, Ronaldo and Georgina opted for a private ceremony surrounded by their children and a small circle of loved ones.
The first photographs from the wedding were released by Vogue on Sunday, offering a glimpse into the couple’s special day.
Ronaldo and Georgina’s intimate wedding
The ceremony took place in the living room of the couple’s home in Cascais. Their five children were among those present, including Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., twins Eva and Mateo, and daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.
The wedding also included a small group of close friends and relatives. Among the guests were Ronaldo’s longtime friend Miguel Paixão, Georgina’s sister Ivana Rodríguez, and friends José Rodríguez Sangil and Mónica González Martínez and her husband.
The intimate setting reflected the couple’s decision to prioritise family and privacy over a traditional large-scale celebration.
Couple mark 10 years since first meeting
The wedding came as the couple marked the 10th anniversary of their first meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Georgina was working as a sales assistant at the time.
Ronaldo had previously shared the first public glimpse of their marriage on Instagram, posting photographs of the couple holding hands and displaying their wedding rings. His caption simply read, “C (heart) G.”
The couple’s relationship began in 2016 and has since grown into a family of their own.
Georgina reveals why they chose a private wedding
Speaking to Vogue, Georgina explained that her idea of a dream wedding changed over the years.
She recalled once imagining an elaborate celebration featuring a grand castle, carriage, long dress and diamond crown. However, she said she ultimately preferred something much more personal and intimate with Ronaldo and their children.
The couple also attended a mass to bless their union, according to the photographs released by the magazine.
Bigger celebration could be on the way
Although Ronaldo and Georgina chose an intimate ceremony for their wedding, the celebrations may not end there.
The couple reportedly indicated that they plan to hold a larger celebration in the future, with their wider circle of friends and family joining them.
For now, their private ceremony in Cascais has given fans a rare glimpse into one of football’s most high-profile relationships.
