Bus Fares All Categories Hiked Again In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Commerce and Transport Department has notified the increase in the rate of bus fare across all categories on Monday with immediate effect.

“Due to increase in per litre diesel price from Rs. 98.40 as on 31.03.2022 to Rs. 102.22 as on 18.04.2022, leading to price increase by an amount equal to Rs.3.82 in direct & Rs. 4.05 in cumulative (including the carryover), the fare for stage carriages other than town buses plying within the State of Odisha shall be fixed at increased rate as specified in the table given below which will be effective from the date of issue of Order,” the Department stated.

According to Debendra Kumar Sahoo, the General Secretary of All Odisha Bus Owners Association (AOBOA) these are the new revised fares in various categories:

1. Ordinary Fare increased from 90paisa to 92paisa.
2. Express Fare increased from 94paisa to 96paisa.
3. Deluxe Fare increased from 1.31paisa to 1.35paisa.
4. A. C. Deluxe Fare increased from 1.59paisa to 1.63paisa.
5. Super Premium fare increased from Rs. 2.47paisa to Rs. 2.53paisa.
