Bhubaneswar: Noted Odia film producer Akshay Parija, who has landed in controversy over his relationship with lady blackmailer Archana Nag, on Saturday refused to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the sextortion case, citing health issues.
His lawyer informed that Parija was unable to turn up due to cold and cough. “He is currently under isolation after returning from Bangkok. He could not appear before the probe agency,” he said.
Parija sought another date for appearing. He will cooperate with the investigation, the lawyer said.
ED had summoned Parija as part of its investigation into the blackmailing and extortion case.
The agency is likely to quiz from various aspects regarding his involvement in the case.
The well-known producer had alleged that Archana demanded Rs 3 crore by blackmailing him.
