Malkangiri: In a tragic incident, two children drowned in a pond at Kamarguda village under Padia block in Malkangiri district. The deceased has been identified as Anita Madakami( 3) and Ayush Kabasi.
According to reports, the incident took place while the minors had gone to play near the pond 50 metres away from their houses and slipped into the deep water. The family members made a frantic search as both the children did not return for long.
Later, they found Anita and Ayush floating in the pond and took them to Padia Community Health Centre (CHC) where the doctors declared them brought dead.
Police registered two unnatural deaths and launched an investigation into the matter.
