Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan who played a vital role in the victory of BJP in Dhamnagar, said that by-poll result is a victory of democracy.
“Dhamnagar Bypoll result is a victory of democracy. It is a victory of the youth and women,” he tweeted.
Pradhan expressed deepest gratitude to the people of Dhamnagar for reposing their faith on BJP and blessing Suryabansi Suraj.
The minister said that people of the constituency have honoured the legacy of Late Bishnu Sethi.

He further pointed out that the result reflects the mood of people in Odisha as well as Odisha’s trust on the decisive and credible leadership of Narendra Modi.
Pradhan extended his congratulations to all party workers who had worked tirelessly for gaining the victory in the by-election.
Suraj defeated BJD’s Abanti Das by a margin of 9,881. Suryabanshi Suraj secured 80,351 votes, while his nearest rival BJD’s Abanti Das bagged 70,470 votes.
The bypoll was necessitated by the death of BJP MLA Bishnu Charan Sethi in September.
