Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government will provide financial assistance to the small and marginal farmers and landless farm workers under the flagship Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation – KALIA on the auspicious occasion of Utkal Dibasa today.
The State Government will transfer around Rs 877 crore to bank accounts of farmers through DBT.
More than 43 lakh eligible beneficiaries of KALIA scheme will receive Rs 2000 each on their bank accounts. However, the farmers in Jharsuguda will not receive the KALIA assistance as the model code of conduct is in force in the district due to by-polls.
Farmers in Jharsuguda will receive the financial assistance after the election, it was learnt.
