Police raided a lodge located near Tata Bench Square under the Baidyanathpur police limits in Brahmapur and busted an operational sex racket.
The operation led to the rescue of two women and the detention of two young men involved in the trade.
Acting on a specific tip-off regarding flesh trade being run covertly out of the lodge, a joint police team led by the Town SDPO and the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Baidyanathpur police station carried out a surprise raid on the premises.
During the search, officers intercepted two youths alongside the two women. The suspects were immediately taken into custody and brought to the police station for detailed interrogation. Police also seized over six mobile phones and several objectionable items from the scene.
According to police sources, investigators are currently questioning both the clients and the detained individuals to unearth the broader network, determine if an organised syndicate is operating behind the racket, and ascertain who was running the facility.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
