The Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 season is set to kick off on Oct 10, featuring 13 teams in a revamped eight-month campaign running through May 2027.
The upcoming season marks the return of the traditional home-and-away format, comprising 163 total matches. Each club will face every opponent twice, with the team topping the regular season standings crowned Shield Winners and official ISL champions. The top six teams will then advance to the playoffs to battle for the ISL Cup.
This campaign is the first under a new club-led administrative structure, giving participating teams a greater voice in governance and league operations.
Thirteen teams will participate, including Bengaluru FC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, Mumbai City FC, and Kerala Blasters FC. Diamond Harbour FC was excluded after failing to meet administrative fee requirements following their promotion.
Live coverage of the ISL 2026-27 season will be broadcast on the Sony Sports Network, with digital live streaming available on SonyLIV and free streaming on YouTube.
