The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has extended the application deadline without a late fee for ex-regular candidates appearing in the Annual Higher Secondary Examination 2027.
The revised deadline for form submission has been pushed to October 12, accommodating the administrative shifts caused by upcoming statewide college union elections.
The deadline was previously set to conclude on October 9. However, following representations from various higher secondary schools and taking into account the heightened election activities across campuses, the council stepped in to prevent students from facing hardship.
Official Notification Issued
According to an official circular released on October 8 by Controller of Examinations Dr Prasanta Kumar Parida, the deadline adjustment was implemented to ensure a smooth, hassle-free submission process.
The relief applies to ex-regular candidates across all major streams:
-
Arts
-
Commerce
-
Science
-
Vocational
-
Correspondence Course Enrollees
CHSE Odisha has directed all principals and heads of affiliated higher secondary institutions to prioritise the registration process and ensure all eligible ex-regular candidates complete their form-filling within the extended window. The council also confirmed that all other dates and guidelines previously announced for the examination process remain unchanged.
College Elections Drive Schedule Adjustments
The extension comes right as higher education campuses across Odisha gear up for statewide student union elections on October 15. With nomination filings, campaign drives, and administrative preparation consuming school resources, the revised schedule offers necessary breathing space for both students and college administrations.
Candidates are advised to contact their respective higher secondary schools immediately to complete verification and submit their forms prior to the October 12 cutoff to avoid incurring subsequent late fine penalties.
