RI in vigilance net for accepting bribe in Sundargarh
Sundargarh: Vigilance officials nabbed a Revenue Inspector (RI) on the charges of demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 in Sundargarh.
The accused has been identified as Lily Choudhury, who works as an RI in Tasaladihi Circle under Tangarpali Tahasil in Sundargarh district.
Acting on a tip-off, Odisha Vigilance conducted a raid and caught Smt. Lily red-handed while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to submit an enquiry report for conversion of Agricultural land to Homestead land in a conversion case in his favour.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Smt Choudhury and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Smt Choudhury in Sundargarh district from DA angle.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance PS Case No.29 dt.28-11-2023, U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Further details are awaited in this matter.
