Koraput: A truck carrying maize caught fire after it dashed against a hill along the Narayanpatna road near Laxmipur in Koraput district around 10 pm on Tuesday.
The fire mishap occurred when the truck was on its way to Vijaynagar loading the maize from Dumuripadar village under Laxmipur police limits. The truck went out of control due to brake failure. So, the driver dashed it against the hill. Suddenly a fire broke into the vehicle. Noticing the flame, the driver jumped from the vehicle and saved himself. However, the driver sustained injuries.
The fire brigades on receiving information rushed to the spot and put out the fire. The driver has been admitted to the hospital for preliminary treatment. Further details regarding this matter are awaited.
