Devotees at the Dhabaleswar shrine are in tension after the district administration imposed restrictions due to the prevailing flood situation.
The clampdown, effective from July 31 for 48 hours, remains in force until tonight, with no clarity yet on tomorrow’s arrangements.
The uncertainty has heightened anxiety among Kanwariyas, as tomorrow marks the first Monday of Shravan, a day of special religious significance. With water levels rising, the administration has prioritised safety, but the lack of a clear decision for Monday has left devotees worried about access to the shrine.
Officials stated that the restrictions were necessary to prevent untoward incidents and manage crowd movement. However, the decision has sparked disputes among devotees, who fear missing out on the traditional rituals.
