Baripada: Veteran Odia music director and lyricist Saroj Patnaik passed away at his Badabazar residence in Baripada of Balasore district on Thursday.
An engineer by profession, Patnaik was fond of music from childhood. He began music direction in the Odia film industry with the movie Abhimaan in 1997
He gave the music for a string of Odia hit films including Phula Chandana, Abhilasha, Jhiati Sita Pari, Hakim Babu and Mo Mana Khali Tumari Pain.
