Bolangir: Police seized 1850 bottles of illegal cough syrup from Sudapada bypass road in Bolangir district and arrested four persons in this connection.
The accused persons have been identified as Mohammed Ibran of Chandrasekharnagar, Pancha Meher of Laxminagarpada, Sudarshan Naik of Chudapali, and Daitari Shay of Belbahali village.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of cops under the direction of Bolangir SP Rishikesh Khilari conducted a raid at Sudapada bypass road and intercepted an auto-rickshaw by which the four accused persons were smuggling the illegal cough syrups.
All the four smugglers have been apprehended. The police also seized a bullet motorcycle and four mobile phones from their possessions.
