A 28-year-old man, recently released on bail in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case, has been accused of murdering six people, including the minor complainant, her mother and grandmother, as well as his own wife and two young sons, in Telangana’s Rangareddy district.

Police suspect the killings were driven by revenge.

Sequence of alleged murders

According to Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi, the accused, identified as Raj Kumar, was booked under the POCSO Act in May following allegations of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl.

Police said Kumar was arrested on May 26 and was recently released on bail on a personal bond of ₹20,000.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Kumar allegedly first killed his wife, Saritha (33), and their two sons, aged four and two, at their residence.

He then allegedly entered the complainant’s house and attempted to forcibly take the 17-year-old girl away. When her 45-year-old mother and 65-year-old grandmother intervened, he allegedly stabbed both women to death.

Minor’s body found near lake

Police said the accused allegedly took the teenager to an area near Akhil Sagar Lake on the outskirts of Daivalaguda, where she was allegedly killed by having her throat slit.

Investigators said there were indications of sexual assault, and forensic examinations are underway to determine whether the victim was sexually assaulted before her death.

Father alerted police

Following the alleged murders, Kumar reportedly called his father and confessed to the killings, telling him he intended to die by suicide.

His father immediately informed the police, who rushed to the area and launched a search operation.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations, while senior officers visited the crime scenes.
