Production house Mythri Movie Makers has officially debunked rumors suggesting it sought a ticket price hike for the highly anticipated period action drama Ranabaali, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna.
Reports had been circulating that the makers had submitted an application to the Andhra Pradesh government requesting a ₹50 increase per ticket. Clearing the air on X (formerly Twitter), the banner labeled these reports as “completely false” and confirmed that no price hike request was submitted in either Andhra Pradesh or Telangana.
”We would like to clarify that these reports are completely false. We have not applied for any ticket price hikes in either of the Telugu States,” the statement read, adding that Ranabaali will release at standard ticket prices to ensure an accessible theatrical experience for family audiences during the festive season.
High Stakes and Historic Backdrop
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is a large-scale period action drama set between 1854 and 1878. The story draws inspiration from regional folklore and historical resistance movements against colonial rule, particularly referencing local uprisings during the severe famines of the 1870s.
With ticket price speculation resolved, the production team is focusing on nationwide promotional events leading up to its mid-October release.
